Leaked: Brian Burke's letter to the other 29 GMs about Tomas Kaberle

Without question, the biggest story in hockey this week is the continuing trade rumors swirling around Tomas Kaberle. According to reports, Brian Burke recently sent a letter to the league's other 29 GMs to clarify the circumstances around Kaberle's no-trade clause.

Hockey fans around the world were curious: What did Burke have to say in that letter? Did he tip his hand?

Well, thanks to some top secret DGB sources, you're about to find out. I was able to obtain a copy of the letter Burke sent to his fellow GMs, and I've posted it here for everyone to see. I think it sheds a lot of light on how he's approaching the process.

(It goes without saying, but I can't reveal the source of this document. It was given to me in the strictest confidence, and there's no doubt Burke would go ballistic if he knew who was leaking his private communications.)

  5. You are to fake graphics what Bloge is to fake videos. If you ever teamed up, whoo-wee, that would be something.

  6. this one is so good i'm crying while laughing. god i hate jfj jr. i can't believe he got a job scouting. everytime i see or hear him give an interview now i want to punch my tv. this guy did barely nothing for this team (excet get rid of some deadweights. thank you), and now that he's no longer with the team he can comment on anything under the sun. THE LEAFS ARE SCREWED. it's long past time kaberle left and moved on with his life. he might be one of the only reliable guys on the team because by now we know his upside has dropped and we know all his on ice mistakes (meanwhile mccabe is in florida yukking it up that he's no longer the le but of jokes here). brian burke is the new jfj jr. cliff fletcher was jfj sr.

  7. Anyone who's lost, "Stevie" is Steve Yzerman. He sent it to DGB because it was his first ever fax.

  11. lame - one of the greatest leafs ever, broke in as an 18 year old, played well above his salary cap hit, took less money for his ntc and has rarely complained despite being on terrible teams. clearly it is time to part ways but no need to sully one of the only bright spots on the leafs in the last 15 years.

alot of the people complaining about kaberle think the leafs really missed out by trading ian white. they also swore by nathan dempsey.

we have it bad as leaf fans, stupidity among the commentators makes it much worse. kaberle has never been the problem.
